A few books I haven't stopped thinking about lately
Ones that have stuck with me over the last several months
The thing I love most about Substack is the slower pace. It's been nine months since I've consistently posted on my book Instagram account, and in that time, my views on sharing book recommendations have shifted.
A year ago, I would likely not have posted about a book I loved more than once, and I would definitely not have posted about it a second time months after I read it. I would have considered it old content—something that had already been done.
But over the weekend, I finished reading a five-star book and was reminded of a few other books I haven't stopped thinking about since I read them. I read some of them last month and some back in November.
These books have stayed with me long after I turned the final page, and I'm eager to share them again because a book that stays with you says something. I understand how easily things can be scrolled past or forgotten in our digital world, so I wanted to bump these books back up and share about them again, hoping that more people get to experience them!
In marketing, there is the Rule of Seven, which says that someone needs to see a message seven times before they take action. So why wouldn't we do the same with books that we want to eagerly press into our fellow readers' hands? Instead of moving on to the next thing, keep talking about a book you love. Especially if it stays with you for months after you read it.
So, here's a list of a handful of books I've read, loved, and have been thinking about since turning the final page. They are books I don’t feel like I talked about enough or that I have yet to see nearly enough people talking about (but then again, I am spending far less time on faster-paced social media, so maybe everyone is talking about them?). But I wanted to recommend them again, regardless!
Now, onto the recommendations…
