Welcome to 'Best Of' week! I've spent the last few weeks reflecting on my reading year and distilled my favorite reading experiences into a few categories. Each day this week, I'll share a list from one category. Culminating with my Top 10 on Friday.
I was never much of an audiobook listener. When we lived in New York, I found it too hard to concentrate on an audiobook while walking or riding the train on my commute. When the pandemic hit, I started dipping my toes into audiobooks, but I cannot multitask and listen. Over the past few years, I've found a routine that works for me, and I've really enjoyed the experience of listening to a book.
My two favorite times to listen to an audiobook now are on long walks around the cove near our house. And while crocheting. I spent a lot of time doing both of those things in 2023, which resulted in listening to more audiobooks than I ever have.
It takes the right story and narrator for an audiobook to work. And these five titles worked for me! Non-fiction, romance, and mystery kept me reaching for my headphones while reading these books.
