Reading Life #1: A reading habit seven years in the making
Reflections on years creating a daily reading habit, my favorite reads from the last seven years, and what I've added to my TBR lately

My reading journey follows a similar trajectory that I often hear others share when they talk about their reading lives. Growing up, I was a reader, which I contribute to my mom, and exceptionally great third- and fifth-grade teachers.Â
I continued to be a reader throughout college, finding friends who shared the joy of reading. But, as with most people, my reading tapered off towards the end of college and into my first few years after graduating. Chalk it up to the rise of social media or the busyness of new grad life. But, when 2015 rolled around, and I realized I only read two books in 2014 - one of which I’m not even sure I finished - it felt like time to make reading a habit again. So I set out on a goal that would take years to build into a routine.Â
