All readers can relate to having an overwhelming list of books they want to read (affectionately known as the TBR) and towering stacks of unread books on their shelves. But the age-old question is how to manage them. I struggle when my TBR is too long. I feel overwhelmed, and the unending list of options makes it hard to decide and stick with one book because there might be something better. Sound familiar? It's a classic recipe for a reading slump.
Last summer, I read a book that changed my mindset in many areas of my life. Least expectantly, and most rewardingly, my reading life. I was coming off back-to-back illnesses that had kept me inside on the couch for far too many weeks of an already short Maine summer. I had indulged in far too many hours of social media and TV during this time and desired a reset of my digital habits.
