Are you a Kindle reader? There has been so much buzz around Kindle in the last few weeks with the release of their new devices. While I'm not planning on upgrading my device — I got a new one two years ago, and it still suits my needs — it made me dust off my Kindle, and I've found myself reaching for it more than usual.
I love reading on my Kindle before bed because it's easier to hold, and the gently backlit screen allows me to keep reading once the lights are turned off. It is also convenient for those "up at 3am and can't go back to sleep" nights.
One of the small joys of being bookish is the rise of bookish merch. I love a well-designed tote, sticker, or tee. In the case of the Kindle, there are endless ways to make yours look cute and personalized. Scroll through Instagram or Pinterest for a few minutes after searching "Kindle aesthetic," and you'll see everything ranging from sticker-clad backs to beautiful minimalist color palettes.
I lean towards a more minimalist design look, so I recently set off on a shopping mission to refresh my Kindle since I have the sense that I'm back in a Kindle reading phase. I'm sharing what I found in case you're in the market for some new Kindle accessories (no matter which model you have!) or have a Kindle lover in your life.

Cases
I found all these cases on Etsy. I usually search for terms like "whimsical Kindle cases," "Anthropologie inspired Kindle cases," or "retro Kindle cases" and have good luck. You have to dig a little, but if I see a design I like (or even the way a photo looks), I'll click through and poke around what else the shop offers and find some goodies.

Cats Lying Around. You bet I immediately bought this case. I love the color, and I'm a cat lady at heart.
Green Mountain Village. This design is adorable, and it looks like it was plucked right out of an Anthropologie catalog.
Vintage Foliage. The minimalist nature-inspired foliage design speaks to my neutral loving heart.
70s Florals. I cannot resist a retro floral design and the colors here are perfect.
Pumpkins & Prosecco. This is, admittedly, a fall-themed case, but stock up now, and you'll be ready next year when fall rolls around. The illustration is so fun.
Whimsical tigers. Big cats are cute, and big cats in this color palette are cuter.
Hand-embroidered flowers. How beautiful! I can only imagine how lovely this looks in person.
Trendy reds. A pop of trendy cherry red to brighten up your reading sessions.
Leather etchings. This one has a true bookish feel; it almost feels like an actual book cover.
Also, be sure to check out Page, Likely Story Co, and April Supply for more cute cases.
Insert Cards
If you like to change things up or want to add stickers to your Kindle, insert cards are for you. These are patterns printed on card stock that you can place inside a clear case (here's the one I have). They are more affordable, and you can change them up more frequently. Plus, if you're a sticker person, you can add some pizazz on top of them by placing the stickers between them and the case. This means you can reuse your stickers because you don't have to actually stick them to anything since the case holds them in place.
Search Etsy for "Kindle insert cards." You can add a descriptor if you're looking for someone specific. I recently found some cute ones searching for "Retro Holiday Kindle insert." Here are a few of my favorite shops for these designs:
Another idea is to purchase craft or scrapbook paper at your local craft store and cut it to fit the size of your case. Or even some of that fancy gift wrap you see sold by the sheet at stationery stores. That's an easy, affordable way to switch up the look of your device.
Charms + Grips
I am obsessed with the idea of charms for your device. They plug into the charging port (and technically act as a dust protector) and I think they add such a fun little element of whimsy. I love dainty, delicate ones, but you can find ones of all sorts. Search Etsy for "Kindle dust plug charms". (I searched “dainty gold dust plug charms” and found these!)
Adding a pop socket to the back of your case is always helpful to prevent fatigue during long reading sessions.

Coastal Cat. I purchased this one and think it will go great with a yellow design in the spring.
Whimsical seashell. I mean, who doesn't love seashells? Perfect for anyone who lives by the sea.
Phases of the moon. I have a phases of the moon tattoo, so this one caught my eye.
Dainty bow. Bows are very on trend right now, and while I'm not the hugest fan (I feel too old for the trend?!), I think this little one adds a little pop.
Natural moth. The colors of this nature-inspired design are so pretty!
Monogram charm. To add a little pop of personalization to your device.
Heart of gold. Because we all heart reading.
Chocolate brown. This grip comes in so many lovely colors, but the chocolate brown is nice for this time of year. Perhaps pair it with a baby blue insert for an on-trend design.
Anti-social book club. This one says it all. Don't talk to us while we're reading.
Rattan vibes. Pair it with a retro floral design and *chef's kiss* in my opinion.
Macrame love. Another one that comes in lots of lovely colors! Adds a nice pop of texture.
Stickers
Stickers are pretty personal, but here are a handful of my favorite bookish and cozy ones.

Public library. Rock on.
Sacre bleu. The way this brings me so much joy.
Cozy reader's club. It's cozy season, after all.
Late night. Oops, I stayed up too late.
Booked & busy. It's true.
I can't. Books, a valid excuse.
Victorian reader. She's engrossed.
The TBR. I see good reads in your future.
Fox & Sons. They may be the enemy, but I can't resist a Nora Ephron nod.
What do you think? I’d love to hear what places you love getting fun accessories from!
‘Til next time,
Omg!! Thank you so much. My sister reads exclusively on her kindle and I now can't wait to trick our her Kindle for her for Christmas.
I am obsessed with this substack post!! Buying the tiger case and the heart of gold charm!!
