After a fantastic reading month in March, I found myself in a bit of a reading slump this month. With spring’s new release season in full swing (and summer’s on its tail), it felt like every Tuesday brough a fresh stack of enticing books—but I ended up stuck in decision paralysis.

For two weeks, I’d pick up books only to set them aside. Eventually, I stopped pushing it and the books I did manage to settle into were the ones that hooked me right away. While this “fits and starts” reading style isn’t my ideal, I’m grateful to have still been reading, and in the past week I’ve felt my regular, daily reading routine fall back into place.

Here are the six books I read this month and some quick thoughts on each.
