To spread the love this month and celebrate one year of paid subscribers on Substack, I’m offering 25% off all subscriptions through Friday, February 16.
I have been getting so much joy from Substack these past few months, both writing my own and discovering and connecting with other creators. Back in November, I shared a roundup of my favorite bookish Substacks, and today, I'm sharing a roundup of my favorite book-adjacent Substacks.
These newsletters are definitely written by book lovers but branch out into other topics too: musings on life, sharing an excellent recommendation from soup to a sweater to a show or song, interesting interviews with different interesting people, and more.
I've enjoyed seeing their posts in my inbox lately, so I wanted to spread the love!
11 Substacks I’m Loving Lately
by I came to Pandora’s work through hearing her name mentioned on a few of my favorite bookish podcasts. I finally looked her up and have been delighted by her Substack! I look forward to her book recommendations and all the extra “bits” she shares.
byAlisha started the Girls Night In newsletter, so when she migrated to Substack last year, I was thrilled to see her here! The weekly roundup newsletter never fails to replenish my digital reading list with great articles. And the comments are always full of great discussion, too!
byI discovered Olivia’s work after listening to the Bad on Paper podcast. Olivia’s work feels like a breath of fresh air. It’s honest, open, and genuinely interesting! She offers posts in audio format, too, so it’s really lovely to be able to listen. She is also a great follow on Instagram, and I have really enjoyed watching her journey as a debut author.
byI read Jess’ memoir, Sorry I’m Late, I Didn’t Want to Come, in 2019 and am so happy that she’s sharing her writing here on Substack. Her dispatches from life at the London bookshop where she works are something straight out of a romantic comedy.
byJoanna Goddard, of Cup of Jo fame, now has a Friday newsletter that is chock full of so many joy-inducing things. From stylish fashion + home tips to friendship advice to book recommendations, I look forward to seeing what’s in store in her newsletter every Friday.
byKate describes her Substack as “mundane musings & easy recommendations from someone who wants to live slow and find joy in the little things.” I love her roundups and have found her style incredibly inspiring as well.
toLauren is a fellow Bookstagrammer whom I’ve followed for a number of years now, and she recently started sharing more on Substack. Her thoughts on social media, intentional living, and books are always interesting and I love seeing what she thinks.
byI came across Chelsea’s work recently and I’m so happy I did. She shares off-the-beaten-path Maine recommendations that she’s discovered during her time in Maine, and I’ve already added so many to my list. Plus, she wrote a book about it!
byI enjoy Grace’s dispatches about bookish musings, especially her recommendations and her interviews with fellow book lovers!
byNatalie is a great follow if you want thoughtful, in-depth recommendations and cat content (yes!). She is funny and I love seeing what she is reading and how she is thinking about it.
by &I am a new follower of this newsletter, but so far, I have been thoroughly enjoying their recommendations and thoughts on friendship. Maintaining and making new friends as an adult can be a challenge, and I love the perspective Aja & Aliza bring to this.
I’d love to hear your favorite newsletters lately here on Substack! Tag them in the comments so we can spread the love.
‘Til next time,
Aw, wow! Thanks so much for mentioning us, Michelle. I love to hear you're enjoying the newsletter!
Being described as funny is THE highest compliment I could ask for. Thank you so much for including me in this roundup 😊
