Gosh I love a book list!! The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches is such a cozy read. I also just finished The Unmaking of June Farrow, and it was pretty mind blowing! Definitely a fall read.
The very first sentence of this newsletter made me feel so seen. I struggle with "seasons" in the south. It's hot here most of the year and I hope to someday live where I can enjoy true seasons.
Excellent book list, as always. I have a hold on INTERMEZZO and recently saved Caroline O'Donoghue's ALL OUR HIDDEN GIFTS books.
I can totally understand how that'd be hard! Come on up to New England ◡̈ And YAY, I hope you love the O'Donoghue trilogy when you get to it. It's such a delight!
Love your lists! The Unmaking of June Farrow is on my list this autumn too. 😀 And I can’t wait to check out that reflection guide. 🥲 Aaannnd thank you for the shout out, a delightful surprise!
Love your list! I can’t wait for Intermezzo. I recommend adding “Tell Me Everything” by Elizabeth Strout to your TBR. It just came out on Sept 10 and I devoured it. Very cozy (New England) vibes.
So excited to dig into this list and add a bunch to my library holds list now that my library system is done with their catalog transfer - it's been brutal not being able to place holds for the past month! Thanks for mentioning my Reflection download, too - it's easy to get overwhelmed with all of this and so helpful to think a bit more deeply about how we want the season to feel ♡
Thanks for sharing this Michelle! I somehow have read only 1 of the books you recommend here: The Rachel Incident, which I loved!
Where should I start to get out of a reading slump? Which of these 📚 will have me skip sleep to read yet another page? ☺️ while sipping on an apple cinnamon tea or a pumpkin spice latte of course 🍂
Ohhh, this is a great question. If you loved The Rachel Incident and want to stay with campus novel vibes then I'd recommend Sirens & Muses. If you're looking for something a little different that has substance and feeling but will also make you laugh then Early Morning Riser is the one to try! It's such a joyful, tender book that I think would be perfect for coming off a reading slump.
I can't wait to hear what you pick! And reading with either of those beverages sounds like a dream ◡̈

Oh, yes, I'm so happy to hear you loved June Farrow! I'm looking forward to it.
I loved both of these books too!! The Unmaking of June Farrow was my favorite of the year last year.
I love seeing Early Morning Riser by Katherine Heiny on this list! Such a cozy and wonderfully written novel that I think deserves more attention.
I 100% agree, I'm always recommending it to folks!

Yes, you're welcome! I loved your round up. We'll have to compare June Farrow notes when we read it ◡̈
Love this list! Am I the only one who hated The Idiot by Elif Batuman though?
I've seen divisive thoughts on it! I personally loved it but I don't think you're alone.
great list! campus novels, perfect vicarious living for fall.
I've got some murder mysteries and dark academia titles waiting for me as we get into spooky season. First up: Catherine House !
So fun! I’ve heard good things about Catherine House — enjoy!
I love this list, and the categories you used. I discovered several new-to-me titles I’m interested in. Yay for fall reading!
That makes me so happy to hear! I look forward to hearing if you pick any of them up!

Oh, I’ve been curious about that one! I’ve only read Olive Kitteridge by Strout. I’m glad to hear it has cozy New England vibes (the best!)

A whole month!??! That’s wild. I’m glad you’re back on your library game now!
Whew, it’s been tough!
Sundresses in Maine? Mine never came out of the closet this summer. Respect!
We had several warm spells here in southern Maine throughout July and August! It was lovely ◡̈

This is such a great list! I just read “The Love Elixir of Augusta Stern” (from BOTM) and thought it was a very cozy fall semi-witchy fall read.
Oh nice, I haven’t heard of it so I’ll have to look it up!
You will LOVE The Truants! Xx
Can’t wait!
Thanks for this great list! Only a few I’ve actually read so looking forward to picking up some of these!
Happy reading!
