Good Dirt is SO good, I’m having trouble savoring it because I just keep turning the pages! Find a cozy few days and enjoy the book.

Love your hack for shopping less. I’m trying to spend less in 2025 and could stand to pause and think before hitting purchase so often. Will have to try this for February.

The UK covers are always better!! I'm excited for Good Dirt too, I LOVED Black Cake.

I've been doing a similar thing to curb impulsive purchases-- I keep a running wishlist in my notes app (and include a link if need be)-- it's really insightful looking back at the list and reflecting on things I thought I needed to buy!

The UK covers really do always feel better! I know they say the same thing about the US covers. It's definitely the novelty of them to us.

I always enjoy your newsletters, Michelle! During the holidays, I asked my mom to teach me how to crochet and my first project is a very basic Kindle sleeve. I had all the best intentions because I work all day at a computer and I wanted another analog hobby in addition to reading, something somewhat rewarding that wouldn't require lots of supplies. And yet, I have been struggling a lot to make it into a habit, I have barely touched my work in the last few weeks even if I actually enjoy it. Maybe I should try 30 mins daily as a commitment like you suggested and see if I can make it stick!

I hope it works for you! I bet a Kindle sleeve is going to be so lovely ◡̈

Thank you for reminding me of Circle of Friends! I think that is one of the first books I read that truely made me love a character driven novel! Also if you are diving into the world of hand dyed yarns, I’d like to suggest my good friend (and neighbor) Jenny at www.316dyestudio.com

After reading Jane O. last month, I will definitely be picking up more of Walker's work. I think I have a copy of The Dreamers somewhere around the house.

I adore Karen Thompson Walker. I recently finished The Strange Case of Jane O. It was totally bizarre, and I had to sit with my feelings about it for a while but I absolutely loved it. She’s scheduled to be featured on Sarah’s Bookshelves Live podcast on March 5th!
