The 2024 All Things Summer Reading Guide
A guide to 40 summer reading recommendations and some bookish extras
Hello, readers! I'm excited to finally share my summer reading guide with you today. Like most bookworms, I loved summer reading as a child because it meant uninterrupted time for reading with a big list of books to choose from.
I've also enjoyed the summer reading season as an adult, even living in big cities. There are more opportunities to be outside, and the days are longer and a little lazier. What better way to pass the time than by digging into a book?
I also cannot resist a 'summer by the beach' story. Growing up in New England, there is something extra magical about the summer season. Now living in Maine, whose nickname is, quite literally, Vacationland, I have felt a renewed love of the summer reading season these past few years.
I created this curated list of reads so you're stocked and ready for your reading this summer, no matter what that means to you or where it takes you. I also love beautiful design, so designing this magazine is a fun creative project.
Instead of giving you a haphazard list of titles that are popular or have a big marketing budget, I curate this list based on books I've read, loved, and think are great for getting lost in. I like to think of this guide as my ideal summer reading book stack if I hadn't already read all of these books. And what's on my list, you ask? I also include a section to share what's at the very top of my summer TBR.
I hope you enjoy the guide! It includes 15 pages of book recommendations sorted by category, my favorite bookish summer accessories, and a bonus bucket list with ideas on how to infuse more bookishness into your summer.
