As I've spent far less time on Instagram this past year, I've been getting my bookish fix here on Substack. And there is no shortage of it.
I've been watching the community grow, and I delight in finding new BookStacks (the unofficial but official term!) that light up my bookish heart when they hit my inbox. People who share bookish interests, talk about books in a way that resonates with me, or are getting really creative with the way they are sharing about their love of books.
Here are five I've found and loved in the last few months and would love to share with you if you have yet to come across them...
5 bookish Substacks I’m loving lately

I don't remember how I first came across Madeline's page, but it is a warm and inviting space for book lovers and writers alike. She shares her journey of rediscovering her love of novels, book recommendations, and writing tips, and she has a knack for finding the most beautiful art to accompany her words.

If you also delight in a well-curated book mood board, then Calia's page is for you. Her book review format is so unique. She curates a beautiful mood board for her posts and plans a perfectly themed dinner party that a character in the book might plan. I love it.

Kolina has quickly become someone whose book opinion I wholeheartedly trust after I read Open Throat (definitely a favorite of this year so far!) on her recommendation. Her writing is fresh, her book reviews are thoughtful, and I enjoy seeing glimpses into her life as a writer.

Tara is such a diverse reader, and it's a pleasure to see what she's reading and how she's thinking about what she reads and reading her essays. She's reclaimed her reading life after leaving a busy job in big law and finding herself with more time to pursue what she loves. Listening to her episode of What Should I Read Next was especially fun.

I came across Petya's Substack a couple of weeks ago and immediately hit subscribe after reading her essay series on how she chooses what to read next. I absolutely love the way she talks about and thinks about the books she's reading, the list of books she wants to read, and everything bookish in between.
And if you’re looking for more bookish Substack recommendations, here are two other round-ups I’ve shared of other favorites!
I’d love to hear your favorite newsletters lately here on Substack! Tag them in the comments so we can spread the love.
‘Til next time,
Thank you so much for including me here !
Michelle! Thank you so much, it's a huge honor. I also hadn't yet come across Calia's BookStack, so I followed asap!
I appreciate you!
